Police Reports: 2015-10-16

• An officer observed a male student sitting in the stairwell of the Duryea Parking Deck at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday. The student smelled like cannabis, and he was holding a green substance that later tested positive for marijuana.
The items were confiscated and placed in police evidence.

• Officers heard loud music and voices coming from a residence on the 1300 block of W. Fredonia Avenue at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday. The residents were on a patio that smelled like cannabis, and officers confiscated a pipe from a male student on the property.
The pipe later tested positive for cannabis, and the student was told the incident would be documented.

• Officers received a report of burglary at 8 a.m. Oct. 8. The complainant, a male student, an unknown person entered his residence between midnight and 8 a.m. on the 1500 lock of W. Fredonia Avenue.
The complainant said the person removed a composite from his living room, and they may have gotten in because the residence doors are not always secured.
There are no suspects.

• A female non-student reported a case of disorderly conduct at 3:46 a.m. Oct. 9. The complainant said she could hear a pair of males shouting on the 1000 block of Glenwood Avenue.
The woman attempted to confront them, but one stepped too close to her and called her an offensive name. Both males were students and admitted to wrestling around in the yard after coming home from the bars.

• Police received a report of theft at 12:46 p.m. Saturday. A male student reported that an unknown person had stolen a picnic table and a fire pit in front of his residence located on the 1500 block of W. Bradley Avenue.
There are no suspects.

• A female staff member reported criminal damage to her daughter’s vehicle at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The complainant said her daughter’s vehicle was parked on the 900 block of University Street, and the driver’s door was dented twice and the window would not work properly.
There are no suspects.

• An officer performing a walkthrough of Holmes Hall, located at 915 N. Haussler Lane, smelled natural gas in the building. The officer called operating engineers at 1:49 a.m. Monday to investigate the odor.
Operating engineers responded to conduct multi-meter tests, all of which yielded negative readings on the gas odor.

• Officers responded to a burglar alarm going off on the 1000 block of W. Bradley Avenue at 3:03 p.m. Tuesday.
When officers arrived, an employee of off-campus properties reported that he had accidentally set the alarm off when performing maintenance tasks.
