Junior Brooke Engerman first started working with the Activites Council of Bradley University (ACBU) during the fall of her sophomore year and through the strides she has made in the organization the past year, she is currently the featured entertainment coordinator.

I wasn’t very involved freshman year, and I decided that I wanted to join a student organization, Engerman, an English and advertising double major, said. Little did I know that I would develop such a love and passion for ACBU.

Through her affiliation with ACBU, Engerman has had the opportunity to interact with famous artists, including Nick Jonas and the members of Bastille. She said she picked up Jonas from the airport and bonded with Bastilles lead singer when they performed in 2016.

My [favorite] experience would have to be getting coffee and talking about Twin Peaks with Dan Smith, the lead singer of Bastille, Engerman said. He was an incredible guy, and I’ll never forget getting to spend time with him discussing our mutual interests.

Engermans fellow ACBU executive board members notice her impressive work ethic as an effective coordinator.

Brooke is an incredibly hard worker, senior studio art major and ACBU coordinator Shelby Johnson said. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes of putting on an event, [the Jonas concert], that big, and Brooke has managed to do it without the help of any other featured entertainment coordinators. She always maintains a level head, even when major problems arise.

According to ACBU President Kelly Wrobel, Engerman sold the most amount of student tickets for the Jonas concert among the ACBU staff.

Brooke is amazing at what she does, Wrobel, a senior public relations major, said. Throughout the planning of the recent concert, Nick Jonas, she was so professional when working with his management They complimented [ACBU] on how well we did as a student organization and how Brooke worked with the artist.

Although Engerman said she is undecided about her career path, her fellow ACBU members said they believe she will be successful with the skills shes acquired in ACBU.

Brooke is incredibly talented and will take that with her when she graduates, Wrobel said. Her experiences will take her far, and it has been awesome working with someone who is so passionate about what she puts her mind to.

Engerman said she feels her time with ACBU has been a pivotal part of her college career, and urges other students to get involved as well.

“[ACBU] has truly transformed my Bradley experience, and I recommend everyone to join,” Engerman said.
