Police Reports: 2016-04-08

• Officers received a report of an unknown person sending unwanted text messages to a male student at 8:47 p.m. April 4 on the 1300 block of W. Bradley Avenue.
The male student said he was receiving messages from a female student, but when he confronted the female, she said she was not the person sending him the text messages. The female said she believes someone is posing as her.
There are no suspects.

• Officers responded to an argument between a male student and a female non-student at 6:09 p.m. March 31 on University Street.
The female said she got angry during the argument and stole the male’s iPad, so the male alerted the police.
The female returned the iPad.

• Officers responded to reports of an intoxicated male student at 1:54 a.m. March 31 in the 1600 block of Bradley Avenue.
The male was evaluated by medics, and he registered a .253 BAC.
He refused medical treatment and was escorted home by officers.

• A female student’s laptop was stolen in the Caterpillar Global Communications Center between noon and 12:40 p.m. April 4.
The student reported to police she was studying before class and accidentally left her laptop unattended when she went to class. She came back, and the laptop was gone.
There are no suspects.

• Officers heard and saw fireworks going off at 11:58 p.m. March 31 on the 1300 block of Main Street.
The officers issued the residents a citation for the fireworks.

• Officers responded to a report of eight non-students soliciting money from six students on campus at 2:30 p.m. March 31.
Five of the non-students received citations, and one of those five individuals was arrested.
All money taken was returned to the students.

• Officers received a report of a male student vomiting in a taxicab at 12:20 a.m. March 31 on Cooper Street.
The male said he had been drinking, and he registered a .183 BAC.
He refused medical treatment and was released.
