Police Reports: 2017-04-14

Officers received a report of a male walking around the rear of Michel Student Center at 2:28 a.m. April 9.

The male was reported to be acting strangely, and when officers arrived, they asked him to leave. Police were dispatched the next day from reports of the same man from university staff at 3:03 p.m. April 10 at the Visitors Center.

When officers arrived and approached him, he produced a valid Bradley Student ID with his picture and the birth year of 1998, despite the man appearing to be in his 60s. It was determined the man was able to receive an ID from the Controllers Office because he has the same name as an incoming student.

The ID was confiscated and the male was banned from campus.

Officers received anonymous complaints of male students throwing objects out of their dorm window in Geisert Hall at 2:30 p.m. April 9 at 911 N. Duryea Pl.

When an officer arrived, he saw multiple male students trying to throw trash out of their dorm window into the dumpster next to the building. Once the officer located the room, he had the students clean up the trash that did not make it into the dumpster.

The students were given a warning.

Two students activated the smoke alarm in their apartment after using their stove as a kiln, or a ceramics oven, at 12:32 a.m. April 10 at 828 Underhill Ave.

The students were trying to bake ceramics with wood bases. The wood started to smoke and set off the smoke detector.

The fire department arrived, deactivated the smoke detectors and cleared the apartment.

Officers were dispatched to confiscate drug equipment and cannabis from a dorm room at 5:42 p.m. April 9 at 1307 W. Bradley Ave.

The officers met with Residential Life who turned over the items found in the room, which included three torches, two grinders, three metal smoking devices, a glass jar containing .2 grams of cannabis and edibles, three glass smoking devices and tobacco smoking papers.
