Screen shot 2014-04-17 at 11.38.02 PMBradley’s men and women’s track teams took the short trip to Champaign Saturday for the Illinois Twilight.

Junior Kyela Specht had the fifth-best 400-meter time in program history during her first race in the event in her collegiate career.

The Braves continued to improve as freshman Casey Kramer and senior Cassie Lohmeier both posted season-best times in their respective events.

On the men’s side, freshman Caleb Beck finished well, placing second in the 5,000 meters. He has now become the 10th individual in school history to break 15 minutes.

In Macomb at the Lee Calhoun Memorial, sophomore Elizabeth Dutcher won the women’s heptathlon, scoring the second highest career-best point total in school history, something that hasn’t happened since 1986.

Bradley’s track teams continue their busy schedule, competing this weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays, the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, Calif. and the Long Beach Invitational. Some athletes will also be at the Gateway Invitational in Edwardsville.
