The women’s volleyball team faced Drake University in a four game set Tuesday. It was a tough battle between these two teams, but Drake seized the opportunity and dominated Bradley at Renaissance Coliseum to give them the win.

There was a lot of action from a range of players on the court. Freshman Erica Haslag made 15 kills and had a season-best 11 digs in her first career double-double. Not only that, but she also broke the record for most kills set by a Bradley player since her previous record set against Southeast Missouri State on Sept. 18.

Another dominating freshman was Allison Turner, who aided the team with her 10 kills. Senior Lea Sack also impressed with her match-high 30 digs, falling one dig short of beating her career-best. However, she managed to move up two spots past Amelie Rodrigue and Blythe Zajakowski, placing her in ninth. Fellow senior Jessica Teel had 23 assists and 11 digs in her fourth double-double of the season.

Despite Bradley’s impressive stats, Drake managed to stay one step ahead of the Braves in the four games. They were 25-17, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-16, allowing the Braves to only take a lead in the third game.

Bradley tried to keep up with Drake’s pace on the court but couldn’t quite match their rhythm for majority of the night.

The Braves ended their three game home stance against Drake. They will be on the road for the next three games facing Wichita State on Oct. 16, Missouri State on Oct. 17 and Loyola on Oct. 24.
