Police Reports: 5.2.14

• Officers saw a male non-student throw a small bag into a nearby garbage can by the Renaissance Coliseum at 8:30 p.m. April 24. The male then entered the Coliseum and was checked by security.
The male’s eyes were bloodshot, and he smelled of marijuana. He eventually complied with officers to take a breathalyzer test.
Police issued him an underage drinking ticket and disposed of the found marijuana.

• Officers spotted a male student with a beer in his hand and an orange traffic cone on his shoulder at 6:15 p.m. April 25. The male was walking down the 1400 block of Fredonia Ave.
When he saw police officers, he dropped the traffic cone and started running but kept his beer in hand.
When officers caught up with the male, he refused to take a breathalyzer test because his parents told him not to, he said. His eyes were bloodshot, and his speech was slurred.
He later agreed to a breathalyzer test and had a blood alcohol level of .154. Officers issued the male an underage drinking ticket and a warning for running from the police.

• Officers on patrol responded to a battery report at 10 p.m. Saturday on the 1400 block of Fredonia Ave. A female student got into an altercation with a male non-student while taking a bus to campus. The female said the male slapped her. She did not have any marks on her face, but her arm was bruised.
The female’s non-student boyfriend was on the bus with them. However, the boyfriend said no physical altercation occurred. There were no other witnesses.
The female was taken to OSF St. Francis hospital.

• Officers were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. Saturday to a residence in the 1400 block of Fredonia Ave. regarding someone urinating on a porch.
Officers spoke to a female student who said she saw two men urinating on the door and looking in through the windows.
Through video surveillance tapes, police officers found two male non-students on the 1300 block of Fredonia Ave. The males were intoxicated and lied to the officers about being at the residence. They eventually admitted to their offenses and took a breathalyzer test.
One male had a blood alcohol level of .220 and was charged with disorderly conduct, underage drinking and public indecency. The second male had a blood alcohol level of .235 and was charged with disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
