This week heralded the beginning of the fall TV season, and it sounds like it’s going to be a good one. Because there are many different networks with great shows to check out, I’ll narrow it down to the ones I’m personally interested in.

“Arrow” – The previous season of “Arrow” was lackluster compared to the first two. According to Entertainment Weekly, the creators are aiming to incorporate more comic book influence for season four to capture that original appeal.

“The Flash” – On the other hand, “The Flash” was an explosive hit during its first season. Leaving with a world-changing cliffhanger, it’s hoping to ride that momentum into an even better second season. Introducing new characters on top of the idea of parallel worlds, the series is testing how far you can push the superhero envelope on TV.

“Supernatural” – Now in its 11th season, “Supernatural” continues to tell the story of the Winchester boys and their battle against evil. The program lost me a few seasons back, but it’s showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” – “Hotel” centers on a series of Los Angeles murders with the fictional Hotel Cortez as the centerpiece. Many recurring cast members will be returning to bring more thrills, spills and chills right in time for Halloween season. I jumped into the series during “Freak Show” and I’m hoping that “Hotel” will continue to deliver.

“The Walking Dead” – Last Sunday, season six began with the group trying to assimilate into Alexandria, their sanctuary from the zombie apocalypse. Trouble, like always, is stirring in the distance. With rumor floating that comic book villain Negan will be coming to the show, this season is rolling out to be a good one. As a hardcore fan of the comics, this has got me excited for the surprises in store.

“SuperMansion” – This Crackle original series focuses on a group of super heroes who are long past their glory days. Despite their age, they work to stay relevant in today’s world. Featuring the voices of Seth Green, Keegan-Michael Key and Bryan Cranston, this animated comedy series is loaded with talent. With school getting more stressful, something light and funny will be perfect as we approach midterms.

“Red Oaks” – Set in 1985 New Jersey, we follow a young man who is at a major crossroads of his life. Working as an assistant tennis pro, he gets lots of unexpected and unwanted advice from his coworkers and club members. With a short first season – only 10 episodes on Amazon Prime – it’s worth looking into.
