Police Reports 04.18.14

 

• Officers received a complaint from a male student who said he saw three unknown males take a traffic barrel from the Main and University intersection construction site around 3 a.m. April 10.

Patrol officers and on-campus security not find the males. Most barrels were labeled “I.C.C.I.”, which is the name of a construction company.

Officers asked workers if they are missing a traffic barrel when they returned to the site.

 

• An officer received a call from a male student from an emergency phone that an unknown person stole his bike around 10 p.m. April 11 from the front of the Dollar Tree Store in Campustown. The male said he was in the store about five minutes and when he came out his bike was gone.

The Peoria Police Department took the original report, and a BUPD officer watched the video and saw a male non-student take the bike and ride off.

An officer identified a lookout for the theft.

 

• An officer on patrol saw a male around 1 a.m. Sunday between Garrett Center and the Duryea parking deck. The male student was found in the trees behind the Garrett Center defecating. He pulled up his pants and took a breathalyzer of .289.

An ambulance was called, and the male was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for further observation.
He received a ticket for underage drinking and indecency.

 

• Officers were called around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to Campustown Liquors to speak with the owner about two males panhandling outside.

One male was asked for his ID and said he didn’t have it. He kept reaching in his pockets although asked several times not to. He was asked to put his hand on the wall to be patted down, and he struck the officer patting him down on the back.

He was handcuffed.
The male was arrested for aggravated battery to police, obstructing police and criminal trespass to land and sent to Peoria County Jail.

The other male was cooperative but was told earlier to stay away from Campustown and received citations for panhandling and trespassing.
