Police Reports: 2018-01-26

BUPD officers responded to a report of a male student breaking a window to gain building access at 4:15 a.m. Jan. 20 at Geisert Hall.

A male student called police after hearing a banging noise on the door, and the officers located another male student by the elevators inside the entrance. Officers noticed a large window was broken next to the entrance, and the student had a small cut on his wrist and cheek.

The officers then asked the male if he broke the window, which he denied. The student did not have a Bradley ID on him but was identified as a student. The officers watched video surveillance of the entrance and saw the student kicking the window until it broke and climbing into the building.

The student was placed under arrest and taken to Peoria County Jail.

A female student reported damage to the front door of her residence at 2:22 a.m. Jan. 20 at the 1400 block of Fredonia Avenue.

Officers arrived at the residence, and the student said she heard something or someone hit the front door. When she looked outside to check, she saw four or five people running down the street.

BUPD officers found damage done to the door, and checked video surveillance the next day. They saw a male hit the door with his shoulder one time, and one of the house residents identified the male as a student.

Police contacted the male, and he said he didn’t intend to damage the door.

The student was arrested.

Patrolling officers found a group of male students carrying a large outdoor umbrella at 12:20 a.m. Jan. 19 at 2117 W Farmington Rd.

The officers witnessed the group playing with the umbrella. The males went into a fraternity residence on Fredonia Avenue. The officers talked with the fraternity president, and the group of males went with the officers to return the umbrella to the bar where it was stolen.

No charges were pressed against the group.

Officers responded to a report from the dormitory staff after they conducted a drug search at 10:20 p.m. Jan. 21 at 821 N Duryea Place.

The officers collected a bag of suspicious white powder from the dorm search and entered it as evidence.

BUPD officers later discovered the powder was a pre-workout supplement.
