One on One: Who will win the Super Bowl?

Denver Broncos
Joshua Nelson

There aren’t many people giving the Denver Broncos a fighting chance in the upcoming Super Bowl. While Denver might not have the swagger Carolina brings to the big game, they do have the talent and experience to pull off the upset.

Leading the charge for the Broncos will be quarterback Peyton Manning, who is going to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in his 18-year career. Compare that to Carolina’s quarterback Cam Newton, who is going for the first time in his career. Manning has the experience factor of playing with all the added pressure of the Super Bowl, which will make a difference in big moments.

Along with the experience, the Broncos bring enough defensive talent to slow down the always-exciting Carolina offense. The Broncos’ Pro Bowl pass rushers, Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware, have a combined 22.5 sacks throughout the regular season and will put pressure on Newton to force him into a few mistakes that he’s been prone to all season, as he threw 10 interceptions in the regular season.

The defense for Denver will be able to hold its own against the Carolina offense, Manning will continue his impressive playoff run (zero turnovers in two playoff games), and the Broncos will bring home their franchise’s third Lombardi trophy on Sunday.

Carolina Panthers

With Super Bowl 50 just around the corner, everyone wants to know: Who will win the big game?

This Sunday, we will watch a battle between one of the National Football League’s top offenses in the Carolina Panthers and the number one defense in the Denver Broncos.

Everyone knows the old saying, “defense wins championships,” but I’m predicting the Panthers and their explosive offense to prevail against the disrupting Denver defense. Throughout the season, Carolina quarterback Cam Newton has been tearing defenses apart, leadingthe Panthers to an impressive 15-1 regular season.

In the NFC championship game, Cam Newton and the Panthers took down the Arizona Cardinals, who ranked fifth in total defense this season, 49-15. This Broncos defense may not be a challenge for the fifth-year quarterback Newton.

Although Peyton Manning will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in football history, he’s clearly not the same this year. It to take a vintage Manning outing for him to lead the Broncos past the Panthers.

It would be a great end to a legendary career if Manning wins this game and decides to retire, but I think this Panthers team is just too much for any team this year.

The game will be closer than people may expect, but in the end the Carolina Panthers will be Super Bowl 50 Champions.
