Several university personnel and employees were honored by Student Senate on Monday for their work during the two and a half day break because of the snow.
Student Senate President Nick Swiatkowski presented framed honorary commendations to the staffs of Dining Services, Facilities Management, WCBU, Markin Center and the Bradley University Police Department in appreciation for going above and beyond during the storm, said Swiatkowski.
The commendation reads “For superior service to the Bradley University student body from 1 February 2011 through 4 February 2011. When a historical blizzard shout down the university for two and a half days . . . They ensured that many vital university operations were able to continue with limited disruption of service to best accommodate the Bradley community.”
Vice President of Student Affairs Alan Galsky was present at the event and said he thought it was great that Senate showed their appreciation.
“I thought that was really great, really neat and really special that our student leaders put together these certificates,” he said. “That is the nature of Bradley Students, to show appreciation.”
Several employees of the honored departments spent the night on campus during the blizzard in order to ensure that operations continued even though the university was closed.
