Welcome back fall out boy

Last week Fall Out Boy made my inner 14-year-old the happiest girl on earth. They announced a comeback album and a tour.

The new album will drop May 6th and 7th worldwide and is titled “Save Rock and Roll.” As Patrick, Pete, Andy and Joe explained on their website, it is not a reunion because they never broke up. They said they just need to plug back in. The name of the album is a heavy cross already, so it should be interesting to see if it can live up to that image.

Fans have been largely divided over the newest single “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” with some calling it refreshing and others saying it sounds nothing like Fall Out Boy.

Main concerns include a lack of musical quality, which older Fall Out Boy songs used to have. The lyrics are not as deep as they used to be and the song is certainly more glam-rock and produced than their usual work.

Still, Patrick Stump’s soaring vocals and the traditional wailing guitar riffs have kept other fans happy.
Personally, I like the song but I’m still unsure of what to expect for the new album. Only time will tell, but it’s nice to have them back. The music world has missed their certain brand of nerdy hipster rock.
