Brief: Families flock to the Hilltop

Parents, siblings and other family members are invited to campus for Family Weekend Sept. 19 to 21. This event focuses on giving students’ family members a chance to share the Bradley experience.

On Friday, ACBU Cinema invites families to Marty Theatre for “How to Train Your Dragon 2” at 8 p.m. The movie is free to Bradley students and $2 to the public. Also at 8 p.m., families may enjoy a free dessert reception in the Student Center Ballroom.

Those on campus Saturday can compete in the Family Weekend 5K Race. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. in the Markin Center lobby. The race is $15 for Bradley students and participants under age 14 and $20 for other participants.

Other Saturday activities include:
• Fellows’ pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Williams Cafeteria. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.
• Haunted Peoria Bus Tour from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. meeting at the Student Center.
• Free Salsafest from 2 to 4 p.m. on Olin Quad where participants learn to salsa dance while eating salsa.
• Singer-songwriter Austin Renfroe, will sing original and popular songs.

Bringing Family Weekend to a close will be breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. and a brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Geisert Cafeteria on Sunday, both of which will be $6.25 to the public.
