Police Reports 11.30.12

  • A male student called in a report around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 21 of four to five individuals breaking into a residence. The individuals, who live in a residence located in the 1300 block of Fredonia Ave., entered another residence on Fredonia and took some property. Officers located the individuals and referred them to Residential Life. One was also issued a ticket for disorderly conduct and possession/consumption of alcohol by an underage person.

 

  • A female student reported at 8:30 p.m. Saturday she and her ex-boyfriend engaged in a physical fight about an hour before. The female and her ex, a male student, argued about their past relationship while in Jobst Hall. The male called the female names, then struck her with his open hand on the right side of her face three to five times. She refused medical treatment. The male admitted that he lost his temper and that he did hit the female. He was placed under arrest for domestic battery and transported to Peoria County Jail by the Peoria Police Department. He was also referred to Residential Life.

 

  • The Peoria County Sheriff’s Department received a report around 8:15 a.m. Monday, about a theft of a pine tree located in the area of 5000 Pottstown Road.  A non-student discovered that a large pine tree was cut down and taken from his property. Pine needles and free debris were discovered at the rear of a fraternity house in the 1400 block of Fredonia Avenue. Officers contacted a resident of the fraternity house, who allowed officers into the residence. He said he discovered the tree when he woke up in the morning, but he did not know who took it or how it ended up in the house. Arrangements were made to pay restitution to the owners of the tree, and if completed no criminal charges will be filed. The Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life was also notified.
