Oktoberfest Sept. 19-22

Peoria is celebrating its 18th annual Oktoberfest beginning 5 p.m. Friday. Oktoberfest is a three-day celebration of German heritage with cultural exhibits, food, drinks and song. The Obenheimer Express Band will headline this year. Entry fees are $9 Friday, $7 before 5 p.m. Saturday and $9 after 5 p.m. and $7 on Sunday. Weekend passes are also available for $15.

Live at the Oaks Sept. 21

Are you into metal and punk bands? Do you like free shows? Then this is the perfect event for you! The following bands will be playing Saturday at 7 p.m. at Oaks Family Church: Blindfold Execution, No Punk Influences, Must Build Jacuzzi, Desiring Dead Flesh, The Kyle Smith Variety Show and Peacekeeper. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. Sept. 21

This Saturday, the popular coffee shop on Main Street will be holding an acoustic show of hard rock music. Don’t miss your chance to come out and check out the band Eminent Mystery. The event starts at 6 p.m.

Das Bier Run Sept. 22

Interested in running a 5K along the riverfront this weekend? Come on out to Oktoberfest Sunday morning. The registration fee is $30, which includes admission into the festival. After the run, there will be a costume festival, so come in your best German garb.

Upon a Broken Throne CD Release Party Sept. 23

The Brass Rail is launching another round of concerts Monday at 8 p.m. Upon a Broke Throne will release their upcoming full album for $10. Bring $6 and get ready for the following bands: Upon a Broken Throne, Beyond Constellations, Made for Myths, The Beauty in Her Eyes, Corinthian and Sherwood Forest.
