Never did I think I would find someone as special to me as you, Arika Bone.
Throughout junior high, I would always see you in the back of the choir room or in pictures on social media. I was best friends with someone in your friend group, so I would hear about you all the time.
I wanted to be friends with you, though I never had the courage to ask you. Little did I know you actually hated me. You felt that I was taking your best friend away so I understood your hatred towards me.
In 8th grade, we actually started to become friends. I remember one specific night at an old friend’s birthday sleepover, we shared a room and stayed up all night talking. That was the start of our friendship.
After that night, you and I began to hangout with the friend group all the time. Shortly into freshman year, that friend group came to an abrupt end. Nevertheless, we remained best friends.
All throughout high school, most of my best memories were spent by your side. We played soccer together, had countless sleepovers, cried together and, most importantly, grew as people. We share the same sense of humor, which is hard to find. We also share a lot of the same interests, including Harry Styles.
One of my favorite memories with you is when we went to Chicago to see Styles perform. Getting to see the city and going to our favorite artist is something I wouldn’t have wanted to experience with anyone else.
You are truly unlike any person I’ve ever met. You radiate positive energy and I never tire of being around you. You’re always right which scares me sometimes, and you never fail to make me laugh.
Through the good and the bad you were always there for me and I can’t thank you enough for that. I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to make it through high school without you. I love you endlessly, Bone.
