Omelette restaurant purged from ‘egg-sistence’

Breakfast fanatics eager to purchase an egg sandwich in Center Court may be disappointed to find out that the omelette restaurant formerly known as Egg Head has been replaced by an Asian Grill.

Chopsticks, the newest addition to campus, opened up at the beginning of this semester with a menu ranging from orange chicken to edamame. It has affordable prices, starting as low as sixty-nine cents for a side of brown rice.

However, some students aren’t so sold on the idea.

“I liked [Egg Head] because it provided a healthy alternative. If I didn’t want fatty pasta, I’d go get an omelette with fresh vegetables,” freshman accounting major Cassidy Mundy said.

Mundy emphasized that with Egg Head gone, “there is nowhere on campus where you can expect to find pancakes regularly.”

But with all emotional attachment set aside, Chopsticks does appear to be doing better. Center Court employees have reported over 470 customers from Chopsticks alone this semester, implying that many new students are visiting Center Court to try the new cuisine.

Reede Norlie, freshman engineering major, recalls waiting in line for a decent amount of time in order to purchase food from Chopsticks.

“It was only a few days after it opened, so I understood why the wait was so long,” Norlie said. “[The food] is alright … the Lo mein was enjoyable, at least a seven out of ten … I’d try it again.”

Because Chopsticks orders ingredients from the same company as Egg Head, students can expect the same quality they know and love accompanied by the same staff they’re used to.
And while only time will tell if Chopsticks stays this successful, it appears for the time being that Chopsticks is here to stay.
