- A vehicle attempted to exit a parking lot and almost hit another vehicle at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Duryea Ave. The vehicle started to go north on Duryea, parked momentarily and then went south on Duryea. The vehicle’s headlights were not on. An officer on foot stopped the vehicle by flashing a flashlight at it. The driver, a male student, admitted he had consumed eight to 10 beers. An Illinois State Trooper arrived on the scene, and eventually the male was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). The Bradley officer also issued the male a ticket for having no headlights on when required.
- Officers responded to a report around 2 a.m. Saturday that an argument between a male and a female became physical. A male Aramark supervisor reported the couple in the 900 block of Elmwood Ave., and said that as the couple argued the male placed his arms around the female in order to stop her from leaving. The supervisor said the female then slapped the male in the face. The non-student male and the female student have been dating for more than a year. The male denied that the female hit him, and refused to press charges against her. The female said she was upset because it was her birthday and no one was paying attention to her. She said the male only grabbed her to calm her down and confirmed that she slapped him. No injuries were sustained, and both individuals declined medical attention. The female was referred to Residential Life.
- An officer patrolling the Student Center found a male student passed out near the west entryway at 3:10 a.m. Sunday. The male was awoken and said he was not sure how he got there or how long he had been there. When asked what year he was born, the male replied “1903,” and gave the same answer several times when asked. He was also wearing his shirt incorrectly, with his head sticking through the arm sleeve hole. The male was unable to give a preliminary breath test. A medic arrived on the scene, and the male was transported to Methodist Medical Center.
- A female student called to report two other female students making barking noises outside her Student Apartment Complex door around 9:30 p.m. Monday. An officer spoke with the two females, and they reported that the female inside the apartment came out of her room and stated “do you want to fight?” This is an ongoing problem between all involved individuals, which Residential Life is aware of and is handling.
