Police Reports: April 16, 2021

  • On April 8 at 6:15 p.m., a clerk reported an unaffiliated male with a knife inside the Shell Gas Station on Main Street. Officers identified the male, took him into custody and searched him. Officers did not find any weapons on him, and he was released without any charges.

  • On April 9 at 8 a.m., a female student was jogging in the Uplands neighborhood when she noticed a vehicle pass her twice and circle back around. Once the student was on the 1000 block of N. Glenwood Ave., the vehicle appeared, and an unaffiliated male emerged from the vehicle and exposed himself before returning to the vehicle. Shortly thereafter, the man got out and exposed himself once more within 20 feet of the student. The student ran home and called BUPD. The vehicle is described as a maroon four-door Buick sedan with tan seats and a beat-up rear. The suspect is described as a 6-foot white male with a thin build in his 30s. He was wearing blue jeans, a black quarter-zip sweatshirt with a hood with a red hat. The incident is still under investigation.

  • An unaffiliated male approached the Hilltop Safety Cruiser asking for a ride on the 900 block of N. Duryea Place, just outside of Geisert Hall on April 12 at approximately 11:40 p.m. The driver told the suspect that he could only give rides to those affiliated with the university, and the suspect seemed to accept the answer. However after the Cruiser left, the male threw his phone and cursed loudly. Officers responded and told the suspect that he was banned from being on Bradley University property.

  • On April 13 at 2:45 p.m., the same man from the Safety Cruiser incident was seen walking on Main Street waving around a large geisha fan. The male approached another unaffiliated male sitting outside of the Soo Kim Martial Arts parking lot and proceeded to yell at him. The suspect then picked up the victim’s bicycle and threw it at him on the ground. When BUPD arrived, the victim had minor injuries and refused medical attention. The suspect was detained and given a notice to appear in court. He was then released.
