Police Reports: October 1, 2021

  • At 10 p.m. on Sept. 22 on 1419 W. Main St., a dead tree limb fell on a parked car due to high winds. The large tree branch broke the car’s rear window.

  • At 12 p.m. on Sept. 24, residents of a house on W. Barker Avenue made a report saying that an unknown person or persons had been dumping unidentified and potentially illicit items into their garbage can. There is no further information due to an ongoing BUPD investigation.

  • Around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, a report was made about a possible controlled substance located in a student’s purse. The student had left her purse at a house on W. Barker Avenue after a party and contacted someone to try and look for her bag. To determine which purse was their friend’s, the person looked through the different bags. When they finally found their friend’s purse, they discovered a small bag inside with a moniker stamped on it. After bringing the bag into the BUPD, it was tested and came back positive for being a controlled substance. The owner of the purse was called into the station for an interview. When asked about the substance, they claimed that it wasn’t an illegal substance. When the substance got tested again, it was revealed to be salt.
  • At 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 near Elmwood Avenue, a Bradley student called BUPD claiming that someone had intentionally damaged their vehicle by using a large concrete slab left nearby. The victim explained that they were unsure who the perpetrator would be, as they had no issues with anyone on campus.
