Police Reports: October 21, 2022

  • At 5:16 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the outdoor cafe area at Geisert Hall, three suspects attempted to steal a university-owned mushroom-shaped pot, but dropped and shattered the pot after being startled by employees yelling at them. Police recovered surveillance footage and were able to identify the students. After the police approached the students, they claimed they had nothing to do with the crime but confessed after realizing it was on camera. No charges were pressed.

  • At 8:04 p.m. on Oct. 16 at University Hall, a student received threatening text messages from an unknown source, claiming that they drugged the victim’s friend. The text messages were sent from a non-traceable number and the phone number was no longer in service when the victim tried to text back. The victim had no idea who would send the messages or who they were about. No suspect has been identified.

  • Around 11:48 p.m. on Oct. 16 in front of Bacci Pizzeria, a suspect was caught trying to take an extra piece of pizza but was caught by employees. The suspect was then told to return the piece of pizza and leave the restaurant. Upon leaving, the suspect was followed outside by a few employees. An altercation took place and the suspect threw a drink towards the employees which caused them to attack the suspect. The suspect left shortly before police arrived.

  • Around 12:22 a.m. on Oct. 15 in the driveway of 1319 W. Barker Ave., a bookbag was located by an officer that contained over 30 grams of marijuana, four pipes, a grinder, one can of Bud Light, three CBD pens and two vapes. No one was around when the bookbag was recovered, and police were not able to trace the bookbag back to its owner.
