Police Reports: September 17, 2021

  • At approximately 2:17 a.m. on Sept. 10 in the Student Apartment Complex parking lot, two suspects were caught in a domestic argument. The male student claimed that he and the female student had been dating for a few months before she told him that she just wanted to be friends. He said that she approached him in front of his vehicle and initiated the conversation with him. Later on in the discussion, he claimed that she started to get angry and then slapped him in the face. When she was asked by the police for her side of the story, she claimed that he was drunk and that she had never hit him.

  • At 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 in the crosswalk at W. Main Street and N. Maplewood Avenue, a victim was nearly struck by a car while they were trying to cross the street. This prompted the driver to start yelling at the victim, causing them to become alarmed and disturbed.

  • The same male student from the domestic argument was reported for pushing two resident advisers at 2:33 a.m. on Sept. 11 in a dorm in Geisert Hall. The report claimed that the RAs broke up a party in the dorm when the suspect came back from the bathroom. He complied and handed his ID over to the RAs before trying to leave the room. In the suspect’s story, he claimed that he placed his hands on their shoulders and moved them out of his way before exiting the dorm. However, the RAs claimed that the suspect shoulder-checked both of them before leaving the room and going to the Student Apartment Complex. When BUPD confronted him, they found that the suspect was sober and not a part of the underage drinking.

  • At 4:31 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the Campustown parking lot, there was a report of a tire slashing involving two unaffiliated individuals. The victim reported that the person who slashed their tires was an acquaintance of theirs. According to his story, when he noticed his tires were slashed, he immediately called his acquaintance who admitted to slashing the tires. When BUPD investigated, they found clear video evidence of the suspect slashing the tires with a knife and then fleeing the scene.
