Police Reports: September 6, 2024

  • On Sept. 1, a student threatened to blow up the school in an Instagram post. Upon seeing the threat, employees from the social media app contacted the FBI, who contacted BUPD to check on the student. The student at first denied making the post before eventually confessing. They claimed they didn’t intend any harm and that they made the post out of frustration of having classes on Labor Day. BUPD searched their room and found no evidence of explosives.
  • At 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 31, four students walked to Geisert Hall after a night out. Upon arriving at one of the dorm rooms, the boyfriend of one of the girls followed other unrelated students into Geisert to gain access and began yelling at the girl. Another boy attempted to intervene, leading the boyfriend to punch the intervenor and flee. The student provided photos of her boyfriend to BUPD and the investigation is ongoing.
  • On Aug. 29 at 9:48 a.m., a non-Bradley-affiliated individual was banned from Cullom-Davis Library after being caught watching Pornhub. The individual returned to the library a second time on Sept. 2, reportedly misunderstanding that he was banned for life, not just for the day. It was made clear that he is not welcome to use the library or its devices anymore. He was not watching Pornhub the second time.
  • On Aug. 25 at 8:40 p.m., three unaffiliated individuals, including a DoorDash driver, their passenger and an unknown second driver, were involved in a road rage incident. Both vehicles entered the Geisert parking lot, where one person reportedly displayed a firearm to the other vehicle. BUPD can neither confirm nor deny whether a firearm was involved. No injuries were sustained. A BU Investigator contacted the DoorDash driver, who claimed not to know the passenger and that she was only giving him a ride. She later changed her story, saying she knows the suspect by his nickname, Peanut. BUPD’s investigation is ongoing.
