Police Reports: 2018-09-07

  • At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, two male students notified police of a female harassing them at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Union Street. The students said the woman was slurring her words and carrying a case of alcohol when she went up to their vehicle and put her arm over the window. When the students refused to give her a ride, she became verbally aggressive.

 

  • BUPD officers were driving by the 2600 block of Farmington Road on Aug. 31, when they observed a vehicle crashed into a pole, with steam coming from the engine. Two non-students were sitting on the ground next to the vehicle when police arrived and they were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

 

  • At the St. James apartments on Sept. 1, a student noticed large, deep scratch marks on the driver’s side of his vehicle. The student said he didn’t know anyone who would have keyed the car. The damage to the car was approximately $3,500 to $5,000 and there are currently no suspects.

 

  • On Sept. 3 at 1:49 a.m., a suspected stolen vehicle was impounded after a driver fled on foot from an officer at Moss Avenue and Duryea Place. The driver matched the description of the suspect on the original report. The vehicle was recovered and police are searching for the suspect.

 

  • An underage intoxicated student was found sleeping on the floor outside Harper/Wyckoff Hall on Sept. 5 at 2 a.m. When police arrived, he admitted to drinking at an off-campus party and signed a refusal form for further treatment.
