Looking for a change of pace after losing their first three conference contests, Bradley traveled to Missouri State to take on the Bears and build momentum against the 17th nationally ranked side.

The Braves did not find any respite against Missouri State, though, as they were blanked 2-0 on Thursday.

Conceding a goal in each half, Bradley could not break through Missouri State’s defense to orchestrate a response.

The Bears struck early in the 13th minute by way of fifth year senior Hugo Jinkinson, whose goal was assisted by seniors Daniel Souza and Adrián Esteban.

The Braves responded in the first half by recording five shots, forcing Missouri State’s goalie Fernando Alves Schmelz to save three of them.

In the second half, Bradley found other ways to put pressure on the Bears defense as they logged four of their five corner kicks after halftime. With nothing to show for it, the Braves could not capitalize on their opportunities, unlike their opponents.

Missouri State’s second goal came in the 72nd minute as senior Joey Dawson scored his first goal this year off an assist from junior Marco Rosati.

Missouri State finished with a total of nine shots on the night, placing four on goal. Conversely, Bradley only mustered three additional shots in the second half, ending their night at eight total shots with three on goal.

Penalty-wise, it was a relatively clean game, as all three cautions occurred in the second half.

The Braves resume their conference schedule against the Drake Bulldogs this Sunday at 1 p.m. at Shea Stadium.
