Bradley tennis lost its double-header weekend against the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars and the Bowling Green Falcons.

Bradley’s first game of the weekend was against the Cougars on Saturday. Their opponents defeated them 5-2.

In the first doubles match, junior Mariia Pukhina and freshman Ruby Tseng lost 6-0. However, in the second doubles match, junior Anna Belogliadova and sophomore Compassion Tsai led until being called off early, 4-2.

Unfortunately, in Belogliadova’s singles match, her luck ran out, and her battle ended with scores of 4-6, 6-0, 7-6 [3]. Tsai followed with another defeat, 6-2, 6-2, while junior Madi Rogers went down the same path, losing 6-3, 6-1. The duo of Pukhina and Tseng were eager for redemption in their singles competition, with Pukhina ending 6-2, 6-2 and Tseng 6-3, 6-4.

In their second contest against the Falcons, the Braves failed to secure any points for the team, losing 0-7.

In the first doubles match, the Braves again had an unfinished match consisting of the duo Belogliadova and Rogers, 5-3. With the duo of Pukhina and Tseng, the doubles matchup also fell short, 6-2.

All singles matches resulted in a streak of losses for the Braves. Pukhina and Tsend each won a set but ultimately lost their singles point in the final set of both of their matchups. Pukhina fell 6-7 [8], 6-3, 10-4, while Tseng followed, 6-3, 6-4.

The Braves will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday in Milwaukee, where they will take on St. Thomas and Marquette, respectively.
