Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas, but the holidays can get pretty repetitive. It’s great to stick with traditions, but I also believe that something outside the usual remake of a classic Christmas film or rendition of a timeless holiday song is a breath of fresh air.

That being said, the comical-horror-Christmas flick “Krampus” (yes, it is possible for the movie to be all three) is definitely something that piqued my interest. It’s so outside the realm of Christmastime, I’m certain it will do well in the box office, especially because we are the generation that continues to pay good money to see the atrocious “Paranormal Activity” franchise.

With a good mix of big name actors like Adam Scott (“Parks and Rec,” “Step Brothers”), Toni Collette (“The Sixth Sense”), David Koechner (“The Office,” “Anchorman”) and Conchata Ferrell (“Two and a Half Men”), there is sure to be a variety of elements from family to comedy and, of course, horror.

“Krampus” is a refreshing take on an old folklore legend, and it is the perfect movie for all the Grinches and Scrooges out there who are tired of the excessive joy associated with this time of year. It’s time to bring on the havoc this holiday season!

The holiday season is upon us and personally I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been surrounding myself with Christmas music, decorations and the obvious, Christmas movies.

I recently ran into something so appalling that I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was the new trailer for the Christmas film “Krampus” expected to hit theaters Dec. 4. The film doesn’t focus on the cheer of Christmas; Oh no, this film is about the “shadow” of St. Nicholas, a creature who punishes misbehaved children around the holiday season.

Bringing negativity to something usually so cheerful is upsetting. The holidays should be a time of bliss and positivity, not death and horror. Trying to change the idea of Christmas and the good spirit that comes along with it is just plain wrong.

There is something about snuggling up by a fire with a good, warm Christmas movie that gets you in the mood for food, family and, of course, Santa. Why would anyone want to change that feeling?

I am anxious to see the ticket sales for the movie. But if there is one thing I know for sure, I will not be seeing this horrific film this holiday season.
