We’re all in this together

When I think of my pre-teen years, I think of the famous “High School Musical” phenomenon. To our generation, this might have been one of the greatest things to happen, and it will continue to live on in our hearts forever.

When the hit movie first aired on Disney Channel in January 2006, it brought in over 7 million viewers (myself included) and led to two sequels. The quirky music and cheesy story line was everything and more back then; I can still sing almost every song.

I haven’t thought much about the movie until recently, when the original cast celebrated their 10-year anniversary of its release.

Almost the entire cast came together for the reunion, minus the too-cool-for-school Zac Efron (so sad,) to celebrate all things “High School Musical.” The reunion revealed the cast’s original audition tapes, along with their favorite HSM memories and songs. It’s hard to believe that what started out as a small Disney Channel Original Movie turned into a global phenomenon.

It’s safe to say that the reunion was a great treat for fans of the franchise who were in need of some reminiscing. We got all the feels when Monique Coleman gave Corbin Bleu Cheese his previously lost class ring, and I think we all still secretly wish that we had a singing/dancing high school. HSM, we will never forget you!
