Wendy’s gets sassy

Tweets can only have 140 characters, but that didn’t stop Wendy’s from starting big beef with McDonald’s … about its beef.

On March 30, McDonald’s tweeted, “Today we’ve announced that by mid-2018, all Quarter Pounder burgers at the majority of our restaurants will be cooked with fresh beef.”

The red-headed diva fired back by tweeting, “So you’ll still use frozen beef in MOST of your burgers in ALL of your restaurants? Asking for a friend.”

Maybe Wendy’s thinks being “square” is the only way to go?

Since McDonald’s is solely serving fresh beef in its Quarter Pounders, does this mean that we can stretch our dollar and “be healthier” by buying fast-food burgers? What kind of meat is used in other hamburgers, cheeseburgers and Big Macs, anyway?

Or does this mean the price of the Quarter Pounder is about to shoot up?

The “Fresh, Never Frozen” chain is quick to judge because it has always claimed to serve its customers with real, fresh beef in all its burgers. The restaurant is defending its trademark and brand.

Although Wendy’s and McDonald’s are creating an online war, a little friendly competition can be healthy. We all love a good roast or two while scrolling through our feeds, so keep hashing out the beef while we are sipping on some tea.
