The Provost, in a meeting with Student Senate, stated that [the administration] did not consult with any students in deciding to prevent a pass fail option. Even worse, that [they] did not think that students could make educated choices about making use of a pass fail option.
This claim comes from a line of thinking that I believe to be in error, that students are not able to think critically for ourselves as students. If we are, as they say, the future leaders of the world, we need to be able to influence our futures.
The issue at hand is that Student Senate has sought to find adjustments to campus life and has been shut down at every turn. If the university continues to fail to adapt with the times, the harm will be seen in retention and future admission.
Students like me will share stories about how the university failed to provide support in our time of need.
