Letter to the Editor from Adam Bockler

I’ll admit it. I never saw any official word that the GCC labs would be making the change this year and only knew about the modifications through various faculty members.

And I also didn’t know the desktop machines wouldn’t be replaced.

But you can’t tell me freshmen were totally blindsided. During my senior year of high school, IM department chair Jim Ferolo (who’s on sabbatical, by the way; a friend of mine assumed he left Bradley after reading the article) included with a congratulatory letter some highly recommended pieces of equipment: two varieties of Apple Macbook computers and the suggested software to accompany it.

I can’t say for certain those letters went out to this year’s incoming freshmen, but I can’t imagine why the department wouldn’t have sent them.

And, as a helpful hint to the freshmen that haven’t purchased the software yet, another (legitimate) discount store online has bundles for significantly less than the already discounted $600.

I bought it last month and it works great.
