A university press release on Tuesday announced that Tom Hammerton will become the new vice president for advancement, beginning the position on Dec. 1.

Hammerton, a Peoria native, previously served on Bradley’s advancement team from 1999-2008 and since 2013, as the president of the OSF HealthCare foundation, where he led the team to raise over $300 million.

“I have appreciated all of the opportunities and faith the Sisters and OSF HealthCare leadership placed in me during my 12 years here and the team I was blessed to lead,” Hammerton said in a statement. “But I am excited to return to Bradley and work with a talented leadership team to help transform higher education in the same manner that OSF is transforming healthcare with its culture of innovation.”

In the position, he will be primarily responsible for fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives, according to the press release.

“Tom will be a pivotal leader for some initiatives we will implement in the next few years, including a major capital campaign, developing a master plan for the campus and identifying new opportunities that will help further distinguish Bradley as a leader in higher education,” Standifird said in a statement.
