Brock sentenced to 60 years for 2018 murder of Bradley student and one other

Eighteen-year-old Jermontay Brock was sentenced to 60 years with the eligibility for parole in 20 years on Oct. 14, after being found guilty for the 2018 murder of Bradley student Nasjay Murry and Anthony Polnitz of Peoria.

Brock was convicted last August and was given eligibility for parole since he was charged as a juvenile in 2018.

Murry, who was an 18-year-old freshman biomedical science pre-med major, was attending an off-campus party on April 8, 2018 when she and 22-year-old Polnitz were fatally shot. One other person was also injured.

Brock was arrested three days later. According to Peoria County prosecutors, Polnitz was Brock’s intended target and was associated with a rival gang.
