- On Aug. 18 at 11:07 a.m., an intoxicated female was leaving 5 Star Fish & Chicken and walking toward the intersection of University Street and W St. James Street when a passerby noticed her urinating on the bushes and reported the incident to BUPD. The next day at 4:07 p.m., she upended a cart and shoved a customer at Dollar Tree while intoxicated. Following these incidents, she was banned from Campustown, and her return on Sept. 6 led to an arrest after she was caught disturbing traffic at 7:32 p.m. The suspect was charged with trespassing and given a notice to appear in court.
- A Bradley student contacted BUPD on Sept. 8 at 10:30 a.m. to report that his fraternity had stolen two street signs 10 years ago and that he wanted to return them. Officers retrieved the “Do Not Enter” and “Stop” signs and turned them in to the city of Peoria.
- While surveilling Bradley’s campus through the cameras, a BUPD dispatcher caught students removing red chairs from the quad on Sept. 5 at 3:27 a.m. The male suspect was lifting a chair over his head when asked by officers if he knew he wasn’t supposed to be taking them. The suspect said that everyone takes them, but remained cooperative when told to put the chair back. The other male suspect was found sitting on a stolen chair and was cooperative in returning it as well. Officers told both suspects not to take them again. BUPD later noted that one of the suspects’ next-door neighbors had 12 of the same Bradley chairs in their backyard. The matter was then referred to Student Affairs.
- On Aug. 31 at 4:10 p.m., a student reported being catcalled by a male suspect in his car. This incident was resolved on Sept. 7 after the suspect was identified through Flock cameras. The footage led officers to the plate number, then to the owner, who revealed that his 16-year-old son had the car when the incident occurred. The suspect was charged with disorderly conduct and given a notice to appear in court.
