“I want to bring the program to a top 100 in the nation.”
With confidence exuding, first-year head coach for the Bradley women’s golf team Kara Blair listed this as one of her personal goals for the 2026-27 season.
It’s a lofty one. The Braves finished last year ranked 156th in the country.
But Blair is confident that her team can achieve this goal.
So confident that she’s got her eyes set on another prize: the MVC Conference Championship.
“We want to bring back some hardware,” Blair stated.
Accustomed to winning and adorned with accolades throughout her playing and coaching career at Indiana University-Indianapolis, Blair looks to bring the success she’s had in Indianapolis to the Braves’ women’s golf program.
Most recently, Blair spent three years, two as an associate head coach with her alma mater’s coaching staff, where she advised both the women’s and men’s programs.
For the Braves to accomplish these goals, senior Jillian Cosler will have to make her impact felt on the course.
“I know this team is ready to fight and ready to get that trophy this year,” Cosler shared. “I think we’re all just itching to not have that same feeling that we did last year.”
The feeling that Cosler is referring to was their second-place finish at the MVC Conference Championship, where the girls were one stroke behind first-place Murray State.
Fortunately, five Braves, Jillian Cosler, Brooke Deebs, Peyton Coburn, Alyssa Mixon and Addi Jennings, returned to finish the job. Rounding out the roster are two new arrivals: junior transfer Allison Seitz and freshman Meredith Finger.
“I think we’ve got a great set of girls, and we’ve had a lot of fun at practice,” Cosler noted. “If we let our natural ability and talent take over, those results will come because I know all of us have put in a lot of hours over the summer and the last couple of weeks.”
The girls kick their season off at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational in Kewadin, Michigan, on Sept. 6-7.
