- On April 17, BUPD was dispatched to a house on the 1600 block of Main St. for a suspicious activity call. An operating engineer from Bradley reported someone climbing through the second-floor window of a residence while another person sat in a black van outside. When officers arrived at the scene, the van pulled away. Officers stopped the van a couple of blocks away and spoke with the driver, who claimed he had surgery on his hip, which makes it difficult to move. He also claimed he was having mechanical issues with his vehicle, which is why he was stopped in front of the house. While one officer spoke with the driver, another spoke with the resident, who stated he was on his roof when he saw the van outside his residence. He claimed that no one ever exited the vehicle and that he was the one who climbed in through the window.
- A Bradley employee received a gift package intended for a former student on April 21 from a sender not affiliated with Bradley. Since there was no last name on the package, the Bradley employee opened the letter included with it in an attempt to find the recipient. The package included a return address, heart stickers and a smiley face drawn near the address. The contents of the package were described as inappropriate and creepy. The package was returned to the sender.
- On April 18, BUPD and PPD responded to the Theta Chi house after the ShotSpotter detected nine rounds. Officers made contact with numerous members of the fraternity and found they were conducting an alumni gathering where they set off fireworks. They showed officers the firework debris and apologized for the incident. Officers informed the members that it is illegal to use fireworks in the city of Peoria and referred the incident to student conduct. No citations were issued, and no further actions will be taken.
- A student called BUPD on April 17 to report that he was stuck in an elevator at Harper Hall. By the time officers arrived, the student had already exited the elevator on the fifth floor. Operating engineers verified that both elevators were working properly. Afterward, the student could not be reached in person or by phone.
