On Feb. 27 at 6:03 p.m., a worker pressed the panic button in the student center after a student passed out and hit their head. When BUPD arrived on scene, they were informed by the employee that the student suddenly collapsed and was unconscious for 40 seconds. When assessed by paramedics, the student was conscious and able to communicate. The student was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center by ambulance.
On March 3 at 9:51 a.m., a student in Williams Hall reported to BUPD that their roommate had collapsed in the bathroom and sustained a face injury. The injured student said they were not feeling well with their roommate and became unconscious. When the student awoke, they told their roommate to have them medically examined. The injured student was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center by Advance Medic for their facial injury.
On March 3 at 3:03 p.m., Harper Hall’s maintenance team reported that a student had been stuck in the building’s elevator for 20 minutes. Initially, maintenance workers tried to help the student without the assistance of the fire department but remained unsuccessful. The Peoria Fire Department arrived on scene and was able to free the student after 10 minutes. The elevator has reportedly been out of service since the incident.
On March 3 at 11:33 a.m., the Shea Stadium’s burglar alarm was triggered. When BUPD arrived on scene, it became apparent that it was accidently set off by an IT technician. The technician was working on wiring issues at the stadium and accidentally disconnected the burglar alarm, which triggered it to go off. The alarm was successfully reset with no further issues.
