On Nov. 16 at 11:35 p.m., BUPD reportedly observed a student displaying symptoms of intoxication such as almost falling over. When questioned, the student admitted to smoking marijuana and ingesting two cups of jungle juice. The student was assessed by an EMT and signed a refusal for hospitalization form.
On Nov. 17 at 1 p.m., a student reported that their car was damaged from a break-in attempt. The student had parked their car in various locations on campus throughout the weekend and realized after two days that the vehicle had a cracked window and damages to the driver’s side. It was determined that an individual attempted to use a prying tool to get into the car but was unsuccessful.
On Nov. 17 at 12 p.m., a student reportedly left their wallet in a classroom and found it missing when they returned. After the incident, the student canceled all of their cards. They received an alert on their phone several hours later that someone was trying to use their debit card at a restaurant. On Wednesday, the student suspect was identified and arrested for misdemeanor theft.
On Nov. 14 at 12 p.m., a student reported being involved in a scam, losing over $1,000. The student claimed she was using a dog-sitting app and was contacted by the suspect to watch their dogs. The suspect issued the student a fake check for $2,470 and told the student to spend the rest of the money on Apple gift cards for the suspect. The student obliged and gave the suspect the gift card codes via text. The investigation is still ongoing while BUPD tries to identify the suspect.
