Scout on the Street: What’s your way to beat the winter blues?

“I just play video games, mostly first-person shooter games. I also listen to mostly Indie-type music which lifts my mood up.”

Brian Lauer

Electrical engineering, freshman

“I go hunting for birds and deer during the winter. And occasionally, if the lakes are frozen, I also go ice fishing. Taking my dog out for walks with my identical twin brother also can be a fun way to take a break.”

Codey Seaman

Mechanical engineering, graduate student

“Usually, I hang with friends or just watch a good show. Embarrassingly, this winter I was into ‘Worst Cooks of America’ and video games, which mostly involves sports like soccer, football and baseball.”

Luke Smith

Sports communication, freshman

“I guess I really love to hang out with friends [because] good company is always the best. We always FaceTime or text each other just to make sure each of us are doing okay.”

Maia Wheaton

Undecided, sophomore
