University announces end-of-semester procedures: Vaccines, COVID-19 testing, move-out and fall plans

With only two weeks before the spring 2021 semester ends, the university sent out an email detailing the end-of-semester procedures.

Second-dose vaccination clinics for the Moderna vaccine will be offered 12-2 p.m. on May 8, 2-6 p.m. on May 10-11, 2-5 p.m. on May 12 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 13 at Markin Recreation Center.

The clinic is open to those that participated in the first-round clinics on April 12 and 13 or if they received their first dose elsewhere.

No appointment is necessary for the Moderna vaccination clinics, but it is required for participants to bring their vaccination cards to the clinic.

“Please consider your final exam schedule when scheduling your second dose; we strongly encourage you to wait until your finals are complete,” the April 29 email said. “While important, a vaccination is not an excuse for missing or rescheduling a class or final exam.”

Bradley Health Services will also be offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in a vaccination clinic on April 30 from 1-5 p.m. This vaccination requires only one shot and appointments will take 30 minutes. Appointments for the Johnson & Johnson clinic can be made here.

Similar to the fall semester, the university is offering asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for students before they return home for the summer. These appointments will be available May 3-14 and students can sign up here

Classes will be primarily in-person for the fall 2021 semester with 95 percent of classes planned to be face-to-face. This semester, 35 percent of courses were offered online only and 47 percent were in-person.

Students are expected to move out of the residence halls by 10 a.m. on May 13, when they close. Graduating students may have until 2 p.m. on May 16 to move out their belongings.

The university asks that no more than three people, including the student, enter a building or room at one time while assisting in move-out. Everyone must wear a face-covering unless in the student’s residence hall room.

Mail delivery to the residence halls will stop on May 12.

Summer housing will be available in Williams Hall for $150 per week and will be available as singles. Meal plans are not offered during the summer.

“Due to constant changes and emerging information, it is likely things will change based on CDC and other organizational guidance so we will update you throughout the summer,” the email said.

Updates about the fall semester will be sent through email and available on Bradley’s website.
