Bradley women’s golf opened its fall season with resilience, using a record-setting final round to climb the leaderboard and secure a second-place finish at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational.
The difference came on the last day, when the Braves delivered under pressure.
After sitting in fifth place through two rounds, Bradley posted an even-par 288 in the final round – the program’s best single-round score since 2023 and the second-best final round in school history.
The balanced effort was highlighted by three one-under-par 71s, a performance that separated the Braves from the rest of the field and vaulted them into the runner-up spot.
Experience and poise were key in the comeback. Senior Caroline McConnell set the tone, carding steady back-to-back 72s before closing with a 71 to finish tied for third overall. Her consistency kept Bradley within striking distance early before the final push.
Sophomore Alyssa Mixon, competing in just her second season, twice matched her career low with rounds of 71, finishing ninth.
Depth also played a critical role. While McConnell and Mixon led the charge, four other Braves placed in the top 25. Senior Allison Pacocha’s third-round 71 helped her jump into the top 20, while sophomore Peyton Coburn matched her at ten-over-par. Freshman Addison Jennings posted a steady debut, tying for 25th, and junior Jillian Cosler’s 222 as an individual would have been among the team’s best marks.
Bradley finished with a 54-hole score of 881, 17-over-par, marking the program’s lowest total since last season’s Redbird Invitational.
The Braves turn their attention to the Wisconsin Badger Invitational on Sept. 14-15, looking to build off the momentum of a strong opening weekend.
