New European J-term program successful

Bradley prides itself on providing a world-class education, and this year’s “J Term” was nothing short of that.

Offering eight different classes in London, Paris or an equal time split amongst the two, students of all majors and grades were eligible to participate in what is often described as the “Bradley experience”.

Beyond simply completing their two-week coursework, students traveled to museums, historic sites and famous tourist attractions to not only learn about the culture, but to see and experience what they were learning and discussing in their classes.

Senior health science major Zack Shaw said he loved the chance to travel abroad and would do it again.

“On an average day, we spent about two hours in class and then often traveled to a site in London to supplement what was learned in class,” Shaw said. “One of the best experiences was receiving a tour of Parliament. The experience provided a unique view of London that many do not get the chance to experience.”

Junior public relations major Spencer Keck said his first experience with European athletics was unlike any other.

“[I] went to a soccer game [while in London],” Keck said. “It was a great experience because we have nothing like that in the States. The fans were going crazy, and the passion they had for the team was unbelievable.”

Senior business major Navid Kassam took Art Appreciation in the split Paris-London trip and said the experience was nothing short of memorable.

“It was my first time leaving the country, and it was a really great time,” Kassam said. “I got to see and experience two major cities and cultures back-to-back. It was a good way to start off the beginning of my last semester.”

Bradley’s International Programs Office offers January interim, May interim, summer, semester and yearlong programs abroad. Students are welcomed, regardless of major or grade, to participate in a Bradley study abroad program. For more information, visit their office in GCC 325 or go online to bradley.edu/studyabroad.
