- On August 29 at 10:02 a.m., an unidentified male entered One World Cafe on W. Main Street to use the restroom. After over 15 minutes, employees checked on him and asked him to leave. Shortly afterward, the man emerged from the restroom and headed toward the front door. While exiting, he was seen holding an object resembling a shank. Although he did not make any threatening gestures, employees reported feeling alarmed. BUPD obtained video footage of the suspect and searched the area but could not locate him. The search is ongoing, and if found, he will face a disorderly conduct charge.
- On August 29 at 1 a.m., BUPD responded to a call from a Bradley student concerned about an underage, intoxicated Illinois State University student. The two had met at the Zoo Nightclub earlier that night, where the ISU student’s friends had left her behind. A male ISU student she did not know offered to take her home. Worried for her safety, the Bradley student intervened, helping her onto a Peoria party bus that took them to Slice Hub. There, the ISU student’s condition worsened, and she began passing out. The Bradley student called her roommate, who took both women to their apartment, where BUPD was contacted when the ISU student’s condition did not improve. Upon arrival, officers found her vomiting and struggling to answer questions. AMT evaluated her, she refused further treatment and was later picked up by her mother.
- On August 30 at 7:23 p.m., a Bradley professor received an email from a former student who is no longer affiliated with the university and has previously been cited for trespassing on campus. Although the email’s contents were largely benign, the professor was alarmed by the closing line: “I’ll see you soon.” BUPD contacted the individual by email and phone, instructing him to cease further communication with Bradley employees. He acknowledged the message and apologized.
- On August 30 at 7:52 p.m., Harper Hall staff detected a strong odor of cannabis and found two students in possession of cannabis and cigarettes. The students admitted ownership, and a resident advisor confiscated the items, which were turned over to BUPD. The cannabis weighed 1.56 grams and tested positive for THC.
