Graffiti sprayed around campus

Graffiti was discovered in six different locations throughout campus early Wednesday morning. Together, the words spelled out the phrase, “Gary doesn’t care about black people.”

Bradley Hall, Caterpillar Global Communication Center, Michel Student Center, Hayden-Clark Alumni Center and the Williams and Harper residence halls were painted. Some of the words were spray painted on the buildings; others were near the entrances. Multiple colors were used.

According to Nathan Thomas, the vice president of student affairs, the graffiti was first discovered by a Bradley University Police Department officer patrolling near the Student Center.

The university sent teams of people to power wash the words off the buildings. Most of the graffiti was removed by Wednesday afternoon.

BUPD is currently investigating the incident and encourage those with information to contact the police department.
