Police Reports: January 31, 2025

  • On Jan. 17 at approximately 11:35 p.m., an intoxicated man loitered inside Insomnia Cookies, which reportedly was okay with employees. A Door Dasher and his friend came in to pick up an order when the three individuals exchanged words, resulting in the friend becoming physical with the intoxicated man. An officer was flagged down by two non-Bradley-affiliated individuals claiming a man was being attacked in Insomnia. When officers arrived at the scene, the inebriated man was bleeding from his mouth. The cashier reportedly said the intoxicated individual was being loud and causing trouble, whereas the intoxicated individual claimed to be defending the cashier. The cashier also reportedly warned she would call the police if the man did not stop. The inebriated man refused medical care and refused to press charges. Insomnia has refused to hand over surveillance footage. BUPD informed the inebriated individual that he is no longer welcome in the establishment.
  • On Jan. 8 at 3:25 p.m., a former facilities management employee’s possessions were turned over to BUPD by another staff member after the individual’s employment was terminated. The staff member reportedly told police they suspected the former employee of substance use. BUPD found methamphetamine in a folded piece of paper in a wallet, which tested positive for 0.81g. There is a hold message out for the former employee and the investigation is ongoing.
  • On Jan. 11 at 9:54 p.m., a non-Bradley-affiliated individual reported an argument with her boyfriend. She reportedly voluntarily told police she had a warrant out for her arrest. BUPD subsequently was required to take her into custody at the Peoria County Jail, where she answered several medical questions. Her blood pressure was found to be concerningly high 30 minutes prior to her arrest, a possible result of methamphetamine and fentanyl use. She was transported to Methodist Hospital, and after some observation,  was cleared and transported to Peoria County Jail.
  • On Jan 24 at 4:15 p.m., a Dollar Tree employee called BUPD because a man was reportedly following her around the store with his genitals in his hands. When police arrived at the scene, he was still wandering through the store indecently. He was taken into custody when BUPD found the hold message from the Peoria Police Department for a similar incident. Peoria Police responded, arresting the individual on both charges and transporting him to Peoria County Jail.
