Kaboom! named best mascot

Kaboom! came away a champion last week after being picked as the best mascot in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament. USA Today For The Win’s writer Charles Curtis selected Kaboom! over the 67 other mascots in the tournament.

“It’s a gargoyle named Kaboom. That’s it. Game over this year. Congratulations and please don’t hurt me,” Curtis wrote.

Wardle selected as seventh best coach, former player

ESPN’s Tony Moss ranked Bradley men’s basketball coach Brian Wardle as the seventh best player among the 68 NCAA tournament head coaches. Wardle never made a NCAA tournament appearance in his four-year career at Marquette, but averaged double figures in points every season.

St. John’s head coach Chris Mullin was first on the list, he was a five-time NBA all-star and now enshrined in the NBA Naismith Hall of Fame.

Hodgson and Pittman to transfer

The Bradley athletic department announced Tuesday that guards Jayden Hodgson and Antoine Pittman will transfer from Bradley.

Hodgson played three years for Bradley and Pittman has been on the team for four years including a redshirt year in 2017-18. Both will have one year of eligibility remaining at their new schools.
