A truly bizarre adventure

Are you looking for a new show to watch that’s about “the enigma of human beings” and “the salvation of the heart?” In that case, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” is the anime for you.

Created by Hirohiko Araki, JJBA details the intergenerational struggle between the Joestar family and various evil beings. This series is full of bold action and quirky humor. Its colorful openings and art style are sure to leave you striking dramatic poses.

The story of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” begins with “Phantom Blood (Part One).” Featuring the intense rivalry between Jonathan Joestar (JoJo) and Dio Brando, the events that follow influence the rest of the series.

In the year 1880, Jonathan lives peacefully with his father, George, on their wealthy estate. Years prior, a carriage accident resulting in the death of Jonathan’s mother leads to an indebted George. He believed that he and his infant son were rescued by a man named Dario Brando who, in reality, had been trying to loot his corpse.

After Dario’s death, the Joestars adopt his son Dio into their family, thereby settling the debt. Upon his arrival, Dio makes Jonathan’s life a living hell in order to become the true heir to the Joestar fortune.

Through ruining friendships, breaking the bond with his father, killing his dog Danny and destroying his relationship with his love interest Erina Pendleton, Jonathan loses everything. Seven years later, the real action begins.

All set to graduate, Jonathan and Dio’s relationship seems to have healed. Then George becomes ill, and Jonathan accuses Dio of poisoning him. While Jonathan goes off to find an antidote, Dio stays behind and begins his studies on a mysterious stone mask that reacts strangely to blood.

Along his journey to the notorious Ogre street, Jonathan meets Speedwagon. Though originally a street thug, he quickly becomes Jonathan’s best friend and the greatest ally to the entire Joestar family.

Eventually, after Jonathan and Dio reunite, Jonathan discovers the true extent of Dio’s madness as he kills George, dons the stone mask and unlocks its power by becoming a vampire. In order to stop him, Jonathan sets the mansion on fire and impales him but later learns he did not succeed.

Jonathan and Speedwagon soon team up with a man named Will A. Zeppeli who teaches Jonathan how to use a mystical power called hamon, and the three men band together to stop Dio once again.

The “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” anime has five parts, each with its own story and cast of characters.

There’s so much that goes into the world of JJBA, but every moment is worth it. It is a fantastic anime and everyone should check out.
