5 things men want for Valentine’s Day

Communication and honesty

Guys love to communicate. I mean, hours and hours and hours of talking. Late at night, during class, while he’s watching the big game. He’ll write your sonnets about how much he feels for you. Even if Tom Brady steps up to the plate, guys are still thinking about that special person, the love of their life. They like to talk about their feelings, dreams and every minute detail of their day. All they want for Valentine’s Day is just someone to vent to. Lend your ear to your man this Valentine’s Day and he’ll grow true to you.

A compliment on his hair, clothes or eyebrows

Men work hard to look good for you. Deciding on what hoodie to wear underneath his jersey is a grueling task. Every so often, a compliment can do wonders for his self-esteem. Every day he endures the painful task of plucking his eyebrows just to stay on fleek. Make sure you compliment him on this special day, even if you didn’t work as hard to look good.

A cashmere sweater

Visit your nearest Ralph Lauren outlet store and pick up the comfiest, warmest cashmere sweater you can find. It’s a personified hug from you!

True love

Men love monogamy. This Valentine’s Day, propose to your man with a big ol’ rock and tie the knot. Men love commitment and being with just one woman for the rest of their lives . . . starting right now. Whoever you are currently with, even if you’re still “just talking,” look at him and ask his hand in holy matrimony. GUYS LOVE THIS. They’ve been waiting for you to pop the question. You never know; you might be the one. You just have to go for it.

Tasteful nudes

Now this is what men really want. You think all these other things will work? No! Do you want to get a man around your finger? See Meghan Anderson’s article. Guys love nudes. End of story.

Every year, we publish a Valentine’s Day edition of our Voice section in order to bring the spirit of love to campus. We’re excited to bring you a number of articles (some serious, some satirical) dedicated to sex, relationships, the history of Valentine’s Day and more.

Should you plan to celebrate this day of romance with someone, be sure to stay safe and practice healthy sexual habits – and if you’re planning on cuddling up alone or with friends to watch movies and eat discount chocolates, that works perfectly, too. Whatever you decide to do, be sure to have fun.
