Bradley Student Senate outlined a plan for the 2024-25 school year Monday afternoon at its weekly general assembly.
Each department highlighted various issues to address, as well as logistical plans for the school year.
Notable topics discussed include the agenda on student-services expansions, Rise of the Red rebranding and Greek-life inclusion in the senate.
In regard to extending student services, the Senate hopes to ensure more access to menstrual products around campus, as well as free or paid storage for students.
Arushay Awan, chairperson of Campus Safety & Community Relations, emphasized these goals.
“CSCR is hoping to get free and readily available and sustainable menstrual products all over campus,” Awan, a junior criminal justice and political science double major, said.
Alongside providing more services to students, PR Chairperson Logan Vargas expressed the Senate’s hopes to implement a Greek life committee to give those involved a chance to voice their concerns.
“I believe that Senate needs to begin by just establishing this committee,” Vargas, a sophomore electrical engineering major, said. “[This would give] the Greek Community a larger voice to clearly communicate their struggles.”
Aside from issues on campus, the Senate has planned its first Rise of the Red event on Sept. 12 in the Student Center, which will be a promotional day with free merchandise.
“We’ve worked on designing merch for our monthly Rise of the Red events,” Rodrigo Trujillo, a senior political science major and Speaker of the Assembly, said. “So come check out the free merch we’ve worked on.”
